If you've been running an in-person yoga teacher training for a few years, you already have the hardest part.
A curriculum that works. Students who completed it and changed as a result. Real proof that what you teach transforms people.
Most people trying to sell courses online spend years building that foundation. You already have it.
The question is whether you have the system around it that takes all of that and turns it into consistent online enrolments from people who have never met you.
Why Most Yoga Teacher Trainings Don't Sell Online
The first thing to understand about how to sell your yoga teacher training online is that the challenge has almost nothing to do with your teaching.
I've worked with studios and teachers who had exceptional in-person trainings. Decades of experience. Hundreds of students through the door. A curriculum that had been refined through years of real teaching.
None of it translated online automatically.
Because selling an online training is a different problem from running one. It requires a sales page that communicates the depth of your work to someone who has never sat in the room with you. It requires a funnel that captures interest from people who aren't ready to enrol yet. It requires a follow-up process that builds enough trust for someone to invest in a training they're going to do on a screen, from another country, without ever experiencing your presence in person.
That's not a teaching skill. That's a systems skill.
And once the system is in place, the teaching speaks for itself.
The System That Generated $30K in 2 Years
A few years ago I started working with a studio in Phuket that had been running in-person sound healing trainings for years. Exceptional teachers. A curriculum refined through hundreds of hours of in-person work. Students who travelled internationally to attend.
Zero online sales system.
We built one from scratch together. Two years later, that training has generated over $30,000 in online sales. It's still running today, still enrolling students from around the world, while the teachers teach.
Here's exactly what we built.
Step 1: Build a Dedicated Sales Page
The most important thing you can do to market your yoga teacher training online is give it its own dedicated sales page.
Not a section on your homepage. Not a paragraph on your classes page. A standalone page built entirely around one training, one offer, one clear path to enrol.
A strong yoga teacher training sales page does four things:
It leads with the transformation, not the curriculum. People don't buy teacher trainings because of the number of hours or the modules included. They buy because of what becomes possible on the other side. What kind of teacher do they become? What does their practice look like after completing the training? Lead with that.
It speaks directly to one specific person. The more specific your page is about who this training is for and who it isn't for, the more the right person feels seen. A page that tries to speak to everyone converts no one.
It uses the words of your past students. The most powerful marketing for any yoga teacher training is the unedited language of someone who completed it. Not polished testimonials that sound like copy. Real words, real names, real transformations.
It ends with one clear next step. Book a call, fill in a form, or enrol directly. One CTA. Not five options competing for attention.
For the Phuket studio, we built the page around the student transformation and the unique methodology behind the training. That page is still live, still ranking, and still converting.
Step 2: Set Up an Email Funnel to Capture Interest
Here is what most people miss when they think about how to market yoga teacher training programmes.
Most potential students are not ready to enrol the first time they find you.
They need to sit with it. Research your approach. Read your content. See your name a few more times. Feel confident that this is the right training before committing to the investment.
If your only option is "enrol now," you lose everyone who needs more time.
An email funnel solves this. A simple opt-in, a free practice, a short guide, gives interested people a way to stay connected while they decide. A short email sequence of five or six emails, sent automatically over two to three weeks, builds the trust and familiarity that moves someone from curious to enrolled.
For the Phuket training, the email sequence introduced the teaching philosophy, shared results from past students, addressed common questions about the online format, and guided people naturally toward booking a call. By the time someone got on a call, they already understood the training and why it was worth their investment.
The sequence runs automatically. The teachers don't touch it.
Step 3: Follow Up With Every Enquiry Personally
This is the step most automated systems skip. It's also the step that made the biggest difference in the early stages.
Every person who filled in the enquiry form for the Phuket training received a personal message. Not a template. Not an automated reply. A real message that acknowledged where they were, answered their specific questions, and helped them understand whether this training was the right fit for them right now.
When someone is considering investing in a teacher training, personal attention at the right moment converts better than any automated sequence. People are making a real decision about their time, their money, and their development. They want to feel that a real person is on the other side.
As the training grew and enquiry volume increased, the follow-up process became more structured. But personal contact at the point of decision remained part of the system throughout.
What the Full System Looks Like
Put together, the yoga teacher training sales system looks like this:
A dedicated sales page that communicates the transformation clearly and converts visitors into enquiries or opt-ins. An email funnel that captures interest from people who aren't ready yet and nurtures them toward a decision. Personal follow-up with every qualified enquiry to close the gap between interest and enrolment.
This isn't complicated. But it requires each piece to be in place and connected. Most yoga teachers are missing one or more of these pieces, which is why their training isn't selling online at the level it deserves.
The teaching is already there. The system just needs to be built around it.
Where to Start
If you're ready to take your yoga teacher training online and want a clear picture of what the system looks like before you start building, the free guide I built is the right place to begin.
It walks through exactly what to put in place before your next launch, the pages, the email system, the follow-up process, so that when people find your training, there's a clear path for them to enrol.
